A unique event celebrating song, dance, and theater will take place once again in Israel, shining the spotlight on performances created and presented by kids and teens, completely in English: The National Glee Plus Competition. This co-production of Bimatron-Mofet Hod Hasharon and English On Stage, Israel's premier mobile professional English-language theater, will host teams from across Israel competing for the coveted title of Glee Plus National Champions.

Based on the "glee clubs" or "show choirs" of American schools and the widely popular television show "Glee", the Glee Plus format combines singing, dancing, and original theatrical skit performances, completely in English. The Glee Plus format was developed by Meirav Zur, American actress, producer, and founder of English On Stage. The theater was founded in 2005 and includes a repertoire of original English-only productions, workshops, and events for all ages, including Glee Plus.

The First National Glee Plus Competition was held in May 2012, and was a remarkable success. Aside from the direct added value of the competition, participants benefited from the creative production process, cooperation, self-management, and self-confidence, especially while using a foreign language (most participants were not English-speakers). Competitors and audience members alike were also exposed to guest performances by professional English-language singers and actors, such as Theater in the Rough who presented works of Shakespeare.

Following the success of the first competition, new sponsors have shown their support for this year's important event, providing free entry for schools who wish to compete, free workshops for all competing teams (including English-only prep-workshop and House of Colour team styling workshop), and several perks during the event itself as well as valuable prizes. The deadline for teams who wish to register for the National Glee Plus Competition is February 1, 2013. Prepare to celebrate song, dance, theater, and English!

National Glee Plus Competition 2013 will feature teams from across Israel, ages 8 - 15, competing with song and scene performance in English. Anyone can compete! The competition will take place at Bimatron-Mofet, Hod Hasharon in May, 2013. The deadline for teams who wish to register and compete is February 1, 2013.

Teams must create an English-only song performance (singing + choreography) and original English-only skit or scene related to chosen song.
